Coronavirus: Restrictions on children to be relaxed in coming weeks

Children aged 14 and under will be able to leave their homes for accompanied walks from April 26, in plans announced by the cabinet yesterday evening.

Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, made the announcement during the daily Government update. 8.3 million children and teenagers have been locked in their homes for over five weeks.

Meanwhile the extension to the state of alarm is to be debated in the Congress of Deputies today. Law makers are to debate and vote on a further extension of the majority of the restrictions, which will see lockdown conditions last until the 9th May.
