Sanchez to ask for extension, whilst starting to relax restrictions

Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has made a televised address on Saturday evening to announce the latest on the state of emergency, and that he will be asking the Congress of Deputies for an extension until the 9th May.

The details of the update were announced on the same day that the death toll passed 20,000.

One of the planned changes will involve the relaxing of lockdown for children on the 27th April.

He also outlined the six steps that need to be taken to return the country to normality.
