Tourist spending continues to rise as visitor numbers rise


Tourist spending increased by 4.1% for the first quarter of the year, whilst arrivals increased by 3.7% according to the latest data supplied by the INE – the National Institute of Statistics.

14.2 million tourists arrived in Spain in the first three months of the year, 5.6 million in March alone.

Tourism brought over €6 billion worth of expenditure into the Spanish economy with each person spending on average €152 a day.

Tourists from the UK remained the highest proportion, followed by Germany and then France.
